Springbok are another of the African species that thrive in our South Texas climate at El Papalote Ranch. They are always a site to see on the ranch, especially if you get a group of them in front of you on the road. Both in a sense of danger, and sometimes to just show off, the Springbok will begin “pronking”, which is a natural defense mechanism where they jump high in the air and kick out their legs, it always brings a smile to your face to see (especially the young ones that aren’t quite coordinated yet).
