The Red Deer are another one of the impressive deer species on El Papalote Ranch. The Stags (male) and the Hinds (female) can often be found near water. It’s not uncommon to see the antlers of a stag bobbing up and down in the water as they swim to one of the islands at Solado Pond. Our Stag are more akin to the hill stag you may find in their natural environments throughout Europe and Asia with antlers similar to those of Elk, typically between 6 – 15 points. However, some stag can reach well over 60 points and over 600 combined inches (inquire for pricing and availability). Although there are no hunting seasons for red stag, the prime hunting season runs in unison of the open whitetail deer season which is Oct – Feb.
Red Stag can be hunted year round at El Papalote Ranch.
