Experience trophy aoudad hunting in South Texas. El Papalote Ranch is a prime destination for aoudad hunts. The aoudad, or barbary sheep, has incredible hearing, a great sense of smell and camouflage extremely well. All of this makes the aoudad a challenging and rewarding hunt and provides an amazing trophy.
Featuring thick, sweeping horns the aoudad is commonly identified by its sandy brown coat and long tufts of hair on their chests and forelegs. The “chaps” on a trophy are just as much of a prize as the long, back sweeping horns. Most often if you see one aoudad, you’ll see a whole herd with the lead ram typically hanging out right in the middle.
Aoudad can be hunted year round at El Papalote Ranch.
